ADVANCED VEHICLE ELECTRONICS

Module Programming
& Diagnostics

ECU, BCM, TPMS, airbag modules, and more — we program, configure, and diagnose vehicle electronic control modules with the same tools your dealership uses.

What Is Module Programming?

Modern vehicles contain dozens of electronic control modules (ECMs) that manage everything from engine timing and transmission shifting to door locks, lighting, and airbag deployment. When one of these modules fails, is replaced, or is disconnected, it often needs to be reprogrammed to communicate properly with the rest of the vehicle.

Module programming requires dealer-grade diagnostic equipment and the correct software calibrations for your specific vehicle's VIN. We invest in professional tools like AUTEL, Techstream, VCDS, and OEM-level scan tools that allow us to program and configure modules correctly on-site.

This is the same service your dealership charges $200–$500+ just for the programming portion — we bring the same capability to your driveway.

Modules We Program

  • ECU / PCM (Engine Control Unit)
  • BCM (Body Control Module)
  • TCM (Transmission Control Module)
  • TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring)
  • Immobilizer / Security Module
  • Instrument Cluster / Odometer
  • ABS / ESC Module
  • Key Fob / Remote Programming

Advanced Vehicle Diagnostics

Full System Scan

We scan all vehicle modules — not just the powertrain — to identify every stored fault code and pending issue across your entire vehicle network.

Module Configuration

When you replace a module with a used or new unit, it must be configured to your VIN. We handle the variant coding, adaptations, and initialization.

Software Updates

Some vehicle issues are solved by updated firmware from the manufacturer. We can flash modules with the latest software calibrations for improved performance.

Module Questions

Can I use a used module from a junkyard?+
For some modules (like BCMs and ECUs), yes — but they usually need to be reprogrammed to your vehicle's VIN or paired to your vehicle's security system. We can handle that programming. However, security-related modules like immobilizers typically cannot be reused from another vehicle — a new or remanufactured unit is required.
Will programming clear my dashboard warning lights?+
If the warning light is caused by the module issue we're correcting, yes, it will clear after programming. However, if there are other underlying issues, those codes will remain. We always do a full scan before and after to make sure everything is resolved.
Do you do emissions-related reprogramming?+
We can program and configure emissions-related modules, but we are not an emissions testing station. If you need a module programmed as part of an emissions repair, we can assist with that programming component. Check with your local inspection station for Texas state inspection requirements.
How long does module programming typically take?+
Most module programming sessions take 30–90 minutes depending on the module type and vehicle. Some processes like key relearns or full system initialization may take longer. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when you contact us with your vehicle details.
